What we collect

• Idea submissions: your name, age or date of birth, email, optional phone, optional school or employer, your idea and any optional answers.
• Nominations: the nominee's name and approximate age, why they're being nominated, and the nominator's contact details.
• Offers of help: name, email, optional phone and organisation, and how you'd like to contribute.
• Email updates: your email address only.
• Optional file uploads attached to an idea submission.

Purpose

To review submissions and nominations, to contact you about them, to match offers of help with ideas that need it, to run the programme and June event, and to send updates where you've asked for them. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.

Lawful basis

We rely on your consent (which you give on each form and can withdraw at any time) and, where relevant, our legitimate interest in running a not-for-profit programme. The final lawful basis for each activity will be confirmed in the finalised notice.

Nominations

If someone nominates you, we may contact you to let you know, explain where your details came from, and ask whether you'd like to take part. If you don't, we'll delete the nomination.

Young people

Where a submission or nomination involves someone under 18, we ask for confirmation that a parent, guardian or teacher is aware. Ideas are never published publicly without explicit permission from the young person (and, where relevant, their parent or guardian).

Retention

We keep submissions only as long as needed for the programme year and any follow-up support. A specific retention period will be set in the finalised notice. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.

Sharing

We only share details with mentors or backers where you've agreed, and with service providers who host this website and its data on our behalf.

Storage and access

Submissions are stored securely and are readable only by the small organising team reviewing them. Uploaded files are held in private storage, not published on the website.

Cookies

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we later add privacy-respecting analytics, we will ask for consent first and describe it here before it is switched on.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to how it's used, or withdraw a submission or your consent at any time — including unsubscribing from updates. Contact us and we'll action it.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC), the Island's data protection authority.
